Support SSD Special Olympics

The Polar Plunge is a fundraising event coordinated and run by Special Olympics Missouri to raise money for Special Olympics athletes in the state of Missouri. The Maryland Heights Polar Plunge to be held on Feb. 25, 2012, is primarily a youth plunge in which many of our SSD athletes, students from host schools, teachers, coaches and supporters of the SSD Special Olympics program have participated in the past. Funds raised at the Maryland Heights plunge go to help support the SSD Special Olympics Program and athletes.

“If you have ever thought about participating, I encourage you to do so this year. It is an experience you will never forget,“ said SSD Special Olympics coordinator Kerrie Townsend. “You are only in the water for a few minutes, but you have a lifetime to brag about your bravery.”

For more information or to register for the event, visit www.ssdmo.org/mhplunge or contact the St. Louis Metro Area Director for Special Olympics Jocelyn Diehl at 314.961.7755.
