SSD is committed to program improvement through the process of program evaluation. The program evaluation framework guides program improvement through the evaluation of special education services, procedures and operations.

Individuals interested in conducting research with SSD should read the Procedures for Conducting Research (PDF) with SSD and complete the Application to Conduct Research with SSD. Research topics and methods vary greatly and can range from simple requests to review anonymous archival data to more complex requests involving active participation of students. It is important to review the procedures and application carefully to ensure that you have addressed all required areas and clearly outlined how the appropriate level of consent will be requested from students and parents where necessary.
