Multiple Disabilities
What are multiple disabilities?
Multiple disabilities are impairments that happen at the same time or in connection with another and in which the combination causes such severe educational needs that the child cannot be accommodated in special education programs solely for one of the impairments. Examples of multiple disabilities include mental retardation combined with blindness or mental retardation alongside an orthopedic impairment. The term does not include deaf/blindness.
