Dr. Jim Westbury, Board President

Jim Westbury spent his 37-year career in public education in the Normandy School District. He served as an elementary and secondary teacher, football and track coach, elementary school principal, district administrator, assistant superintendent and superintendent for 11 years. Since his retirement in 1987, he has worked as an educational consultant. Westbury joined the SSD Board of Education in 2000 and currently serves as Board President. He represents Subdistrict 7, which covers Ladue and Rockwood school districts.

Dr. Dan Cuneo, Board Vice President

Dan Cuneo joined the SSD Board of Education in 2000 and currently serves as Board Vice President. As the Subdistrict 2 representative, Cuneo serves the Affton, Bayless, Hancock Place and Mehlville school districts. Cuneo, who is a clinical psychologist, currently works as a court psychologist and psychological consultant and serves as an adjunct assistant professor at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

Dr. Zella Williams, Board Secretary

Zella Williams, a retired administrator with the Hazelwood School District, joined the SSD Board of Education in 2009. During her 38-year career in education, she served as a classroom teacher, guidance counselor, principal and assistant superintendent. She was named Hazelwood School District’s assistant superintendent for school accountability in 2003, a position she held until her retirement. Williams represents Subdistrict 1, which includes the Hazelwood and Jennings school districts.

Ms. Jan Goodman, Director

Jan Goodman was elected to the SSD Board of Education in 2006 and represents Subdistrict 6, which includes Clayton, Normandy, Ritenour and University City school districts. She is an active volunteer in the Clayton School District and her previous business experience includes serving as vice president of marketing for Ralston Purina.

Mr. John F. Koeper, Director

John Koeper has served on the SSD Board of Education since 2007. An electrical engineer by trade, Koeper worked for the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District for 29 years, including four as executive director. He represents Subdistrict 4, which includes Ferguson-Florissant, Pattonville and Riverview Gardens school districts.

Ms. Peg Lestina, Director

Peg Lestina, who joined the SSD Board of Education in 2013, serves as the representative of Subdistrict 3, the Parkway School District. She previously served for six years on the SSD Board of Education and co-founded the Parkway Parent Advisory Council for Children with Disabilities. She served as president of the SSD Parent Advisory Council, was a member of the Citizens Advisory Council to the Parkway Board of Education and currently serves on the advisory council for Caring Solutions. Lestina, who has spent many years working in the arts field, currently works as a publishing specialist for Graphic Connections Group. |

Ms. Marilyn Stewart, Director

Marilyn Stewart served on the Kirkwood School District Board of Education for 17 years before joining the SSD Board of Education in 2000. She serves as the Subdistrict 5 representative, which covers Brentwood, Kirkwood, LIndbergh, Maplewood-Richmond Heights, Valley Park and Webster Groves school districts. Prior to her service on the SSD Board, Stewart served SSD as a member of the Governing Council, Public Review Committee and Special Education Partnership Task Force.
