This section provides information pertaining to schools and education, and special education in particular.
The SSD Communications Department will continue to publish SSD Notices, a compilation of these public notices, annually in the fall.

- FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act): A federal law that establishes guidelines for handling personally identifiable information for all students and allows parents to access educational records of their minor children.
- IEP (Individualized Education Program): A plan developed annually as required by law for students identified as having educational disabilities.
- IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act): A comprehensive law that supports a free, appropriate public education, including special education and related services, for children and youth with disabilities.
