College/continued education
As is the case with their non-disabled peers, many students who receive special education services choose to pursue further education after high school. Some pursue academic degrees at two- and four-year colleges. Others seek technical education and training at trade schools or vocational centers where they can acquire the skills and knowledge needed for a specific occupation. Many of these students also avail themselves of continuing-education courses and supports designed to make classes more accessible to students of all ability levels.
