Litzsinger School Receives a New Mascot
June 28, 2021 - Litzsinger School will be welcoming in the new school year with a brand new mascot. The school invited students, staff, and community members to vote in their ‘Mascot Madness Tournament,’ held throughout the month of March 2020. Families and community members took part in voting, after students narrowed down the selection to the final four mascot options. Votes were collected through Google Forms. The final selection was announced on Friday, April 9.
COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic
June 18, 2021 – Students and their families are invited to receive their COVID-19 vaccine at a St. Louis County Department of Health pop-up vaccination clinic on June 25 at Northview High School.
May 21, 2021 – Bubbles, flowers, beads, glitter, ukuleles, feather boas, and much more were on display on May 21 in front of Litzsinger School to celebrate Faith Wildschuetz’s winning of the Rosemary Zander Award from Special School District.
Board of Education Approves SSD Equity Framework
April 27, 2021 – The Special School District Board of Education is committed to ensuring equity at the individual, school, and district levels. During the April 27 business meeting, the Board approved the SSD Equity Framework.
Curriculum Review Night
April 20, 2021 - Special School District invites all interested parties to a Curriculum Review Night, on Tuesday, April 27.
Career Day Helps Students Explore Possibilities
April 16, 2021 – Read about how Litzsinger students connected with professionals in a variety of careers during virtual Career Day on April 16.
Parent Input Needed – SSD Summer Enrichment Opportunity
Feb. 1, 2021 – Special School District is making plans to offer an optional enrichment program during the summer of 2021.
Litzsinger Begins Reopening Phase 2
Jan. 19, 2021 – Litzsinger School welcomed students as it began reopening Phase 2 for SSD's special education schools.
Litzsinger Giving Tree Continues to Grow
Jan. 12, 2021 – The program now known as the Litzsinger Giving Tree started as a one-time school effort to help a family that was in need. But this year, nearly two decades later, it helped provide for 22 different Litzsinger School families.
