SSD employs an average of 1700 paraprofessionals each year. Alongside our teachers, these assistants and aides work in our partner districts and SSD schools. They frequently assist students throughout their full school day, providing the support and encouragement that helps our students realize success. Their work is like an essential block in a larger structure, built by many hands and shaped by many talents.

The Building Block Award honors paraprofessionals who have made a significant impact on the educational communities in which they serve. Nominations from coworkers, students' families, and others whom they have inspired were plentiful again this year, and choosing our 10 award recipients was challenging. We are so fortunate to have these dedicated employees among us.
