Frequently Asked Admissions Questions
-
How Do I Apply?
Complete an application online and watch your email for updates and notifications as it is processed.
Meet with your school’s admission representative to complete the application process.
-
When Will I Know if I'm Accepted?
After each acceptance round, North Tech will notify students, parents, and sending school counselors if they were accepted. Eligible applications remain in consideration throughout the school year and will be considered during each round. Applications are accepted in order of rubric score.
If a program fills, all remaining eligible applicants are put on a waiting list. Waiting lists will be consulted every time a vacancy arises. Waitlist students will continue to be offered spots throughout the summer and into the first few days of the school year.
-
Who Can Apply to Tech?
All students attending St. Louis County high schools can apply to Tech. County residents who are homeschooling or attending private schools are also eligible to apply.
-
Do I Earn High School or College Credit?
Yes, our Tech majors earn 1.5 high school credits per semester. Most majors offer elective credit, but some also have academic credits incorporated. Both a student’s earned credit and grade are sent to their home high school and included in their transcript and GPA.
Most Tech majors also offer articulated college credit and/or dual college credit opportunities.
-
If a Student Enrolls in a One-Year Program Junior Year, What Happens Senior Year?
Upon successful completion of their current program and recommendation, there are a number of possible outcomes for students. These outcomes include applying to compete for entry in another Career and Technical Education Program or returning to their sending school. Acceptance in a senior program is not guaranteed.
-
Can I be enrolled in MOCAP and attend Tech?
If students choose a full-time MOCAP option, they will not be eligible to participate in the programs offered at Tech.
If your district is offering a virtual option other than MOCAP which you are considering, please communicate with your high school guidance office to confirm your student can remain enrolled at Tech while using that option.
-
What supports are available for students with an IEP?
Students who receive IEP support will have Tech specific support plans developed. These plans help us project our staffing needs and require significant case manager input to ensure student success.
