Ellie Glaser

Ellie Glaser seems destined for a future in the spotlight. The third-grade student at Barretts Elementary School in Parkway Schools, who also performs in two productions each year with JCC Youth Theatre, shines on stage and is a leader in the classroom.
“Ellie is a special young lady who may be president someday,” Mary Hackworth, an SSD occupational therapist, said.
Ellie receives occupational therapy services from SSD. Despite facing challenges with her gross motor skills, Ellie takes every opportunity to overcome any obstacles on her own.
“She is a strong advocate for herself,” Hackworth said. “Her teachers say that she never complains about setbacks and always works to find a solution independently by building upon prior knowledge and skill development.”
Ellie is also the chief diplomat in her classroom. She is a loyal friend who works hard to make sure her classmates all feel included at recess and lunch.
“She sees challenges as opportunities to work with new friends and gain new perspectives,” Hackworth said. “Ellie exemplifies the spirit of Special School District and is an inspiration to her peers and teachers.”
