We Salute Our Staff and Community Members
It is important to recognize those who go above and beyond with their work. Special School District has a long history of celebrating outstanding teachers, paraprofessionals, community members, and other SSD employees who stand out for their tremendous work in helping our students succeed. Each spring, the District honors these individuals with a number of awards.
If you know an SSD employee or a community member deserving of an award, please consider nominating them. The nomination deadline is Dec. 18, 2020.
Key to the Classroom Award
The Key to the Classroom Award honors SSD’s top teachers throughout the District. Among the more than 2,700 teachers in the District, just 10 are selected for the prestigious honor. After the award winners are selected, they are interviewed to see which one will be chosen as the SSD Teacher of the Year. Click here to nominate a teacher.
Building Block Award
SSD has nearly 2,000 paraprofessionals and assistants working with students throughout St. Louis County. The Building Block Award is awarded to the top paraprofessionals and therapy assistants in the District. Click here to submit a nomination.
Lasting Impression Award
Although not every SSD employee works directly with students or in the classroom, every SSD employee makes a difference. The Lasting Impression Award is for employees who are not teachers, paraprofessionals, or therapy assistants and go above and beyond in their jobs to help students succeed at SSD. Special Ambassador Award
The Special Ambassador Award is the highest recognition given by SSD. The award is presented to community members who demonstrate extraordinary commitment to the students and/or staff of SSD. Click here to nominate an individual, group or organization for the Special Ambassador Award.
