American Sign Language (ASL) Series
SSD's FACE (Family and Community Engagement) will again be offering an immersive environment for learning American Sign Language (ASL)! Learn to communicate with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HoH) individuals through an introduction to fingerspelling and basic signs to use at home, at school, and in the community. Topics include family, school, food, and community signs. Deaf cultural norms will be discussed, including introductions and daily interactions between the deaf and the hearing.
This course is intended for families and caregivers of students. This is not a professional learning opportunity for staff and no continuing education units will be awarded.
