September 2023
Posted by Kim Fine on 9/1/2023Welcome back!
We have had a wonderful start to the school year. During these first two weeks, students and staff have established routines and expectations and started to build relationships. We celebrated the first Friday of the school year together with an assembly in our new Neuwoehner t-shirts and a review of what to expect this school year.
This year we are excited about events including our annual Fall Dance and the Talent Show in the Spring, as well opportunities for learning and growing together. New this year, all students are enrolled in a class called Character Development. During this class period, students are learning skills needed to be good friends, good students, and good community members.
If you are returning to Neuwoehner, you may be familiar with our Character Word of the Month. This year, we have a new set of character traits chosen with insight from students, staff, and families. In August we learned about the word ‘encourage.’ For September we will focus on being ‘flexible.’
We appreciate your partnership in supporting your students. We were excited to see new and familiar faces during our Meet the Staff Night in August. Please save the date for another evening to meet with staff on Wednesday, October 18.
If you have not done so already, please complete your student’s online registration and permissions. We love to share photos of students and what’s happening at school, but need your permission to do so.
We look forward to this school year!
