May 2023
Posted by Amber Draper on 5/1/2023Greetings, Neuwoehner Students and Families,
Our school community has many things to celebrate as we conclude the 22-23 school year. We congratulate the Class of 2023 as well as their families and support systems. We are so proud of each and every one of the graduating class and wish them well in their next steps.
This week two students were presented with recognition by the SSD Board of Education for their perseverance and progress. We were also thrilled to see Michelle Cantino, a Neuwoehner teacher, named the school district’s Teacher of the Year and Zach Parkin, also a Neuwoehner teacher, receive a Key to the Classroom award.
Students are completing end of year assessments and engaging in service learning. Several students have begun working at their first jobs and started attending programming with community partners as they prepare for life after high school. We are making plans for students who will attend Extended School Year and gearing up to meet our incoming group of new students with tours and visits.
I am proud to be the principal of a school where we celebrate all accomplishments, those that many can see and those that may seem small to some but took determination and grit that others can only imagine. The work that happens at Neuwoehner takes a community of support. Thank you for an amazing school year!
