BBB – School Board Elections

The Special School District (SSD) Governing Council will annually elect members of the board on three-year cycles. Regulation BBB shows the SSD sub-districts established by the Missouri State Board of Education.

The district follows the Missouri election calendar issued by the Secretary of State for candidate filing.

Members of the board are elected from the seven (7) sub-districts, as provided by state law. Each of the seven (7) sub-districts must be represented by a person who resides in the sub-district. Partner Districts within the area served by SSD may not be divided in establishing sub-districts. Board of Education members whose seats are up for election the following year are encouraged to declare their intentions to run for re-election by September 1 of each year.

The district will issue a procedure describing the process for public notice, application, interview, and election of board members, as per state statute.
