District Surveys

The strength of any school district lies in its relationships with families. In SSD, district and building leaders and school staff are committed to fostering those relationships to create a school culture where students come first. To do that successfully, family input is necessary.

The SSD Family-School Relationships Survey will be administered Monday, Jan. 6 through Friday, Jan. 31, 2025. The survey will ask families how well the District shares information and involves them in their students’ learning. You’ll also be asked if the District is successfully collaborating with families and providing students with the best possible education. This feedback will give District leaders insight into current relationships and help identify how we can improve them.

Family members with a current email address on file will receive an email invitation and survey link. The survey can also be accessed below. 

• Family Survey - for families with students in SSD Schools or receiving services in Partner Districts
• Family Survey - for families of registered tech school students 

SSD has partnered with Panorama, an independent research and communication firm, to administer the survey and compile the results. All responses are confidential; no one in the District will know who participated or be able to connect participants to their responses.

SSD uses feedback received through surveys and other feedback methods to guide the District's continuous improvement and strategic planning. 

SSD Employee Survey

Annually, SSD will administer a survey in the fall and spring to all of the District’s full-time employees. The purpose of the survey is to solicit feedback from staff in order to identify areas of satisfaction, as well as opportunities for improvement related to employee engagement. Engagement is defined as the connection that individuals have with their professions in general, and their current jobs in particular. The survey will be administered via a third-party survey platform, Panorama, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of the data collected.

Special School District values the academic and personal well-being of our students and prioritizes making data-informed decisions to support their success. In collaboration with Panorama Education, SSD students in grades 3-12 are invited to share their voices through two surveys, a climate survey and a social-emotional learning (SEL) survey. The surveys will be given during the fall and spring each school year, with the fall survey window being Sept. 18 through Oct. 18, 2024. 

The surveys will be administered electronically, but PDF versions can be previewed below.

The surveys will capture the perspectives of our students regarding their experiences at school and encourage them to offer feedback specifically about learning, culture and climate, and experience in the classroom and/or school. The surveys take about 5 minutes each to complete. 

The results from the survey data will provide invaluable insights into our students’ experiences and how we can improve and adapt our teaching to better meet their needs. The survey also provides data that will be used during the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP-6) accreditation process. Student survey responses are confidential to ensure student privacy, and will only be utilized by school staff to support our students. Additionally, Panorama Ed’s practices meet all student data privacy requirements.
