Partnerships

Eligible partners include fully funded formal entities (non-profit organizations, private corporations, government agencies, etc.) providing high-quality programs, services, or referrals for SSD students and families at no cost to the District. Any business, civic organization, nonprofit organization, or public-service organization can request to become a partner.

Successful partnerships include:

• Building and maintaining relationships
• Two-way communication
• Alignment of school and partner goals
• Diversity among community partners

Partnerships are designed to meet shared goals, so the time commitment and expectations for partners will vary. Partners who provide programming that the District will depend on regularly for student learning or support services will complete a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or a Partnership Agreement with their District contact. Those partners who provide occasional programming, are a trusted referral resource, or interact with the District on a sporadic but ongoing basis are asked to be available for at least one face-to-face meeting per year with the community partnerships administrator. Two meeting times are offered, and all partners will be invited to attend both.

SSD believes that partnerships are built on relationships, two-way communication, and goal alignment. Many partners request that SSD share information with our teachers, students, and/or families. Organizations can request information sharing with their primary District contact or by submitting a Contact Inquiry Form.

If you are interested in obtaining data related to your partnership, please work with your primary contact before beginning any programming to determine if and how that can be shared. SSD’s Evaluation and Research Division can help work with the SSD contact you partner with to determine the best way to move forward. Our Evaluation and Research website contains data reports that are accessible.

Employer partners get their company name in front of students who are possible future employees and customers. Employers that participate in our work-based learning programs can hire students after they complete the program and find the partnership a source to recruit employees.
 

Complete SSD’s Partnership Inquiry Form, and SSD’s community partnership administrator or another District employee will contact you to discuss your proposed partnership plan.

Applicants will be contacted by the community partnerships administrator or other District personnel based on inquiry selections. All partnership inquiry forms are subject to approval by SSD.

Not all partnerships require a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). An MOU is only required when a partnership involves a significant, ongoing commitment, primarily when it directly supports students. To learn more, review our MOU process and MOU template.

If you want to make a monetary or in-kind donation, please fill out the SSD’s Partnership Inquiry Form. The community partnership administrator will work with you and the SSD team to connect you with the correct person.

If your services require payment, please review SSD’s RFP (Request For Proposal) list. If what you are offering is not on this list, we encourage you to check frequently, as it is updated to reflect the District's current needs. Only proposals that align with our current needs will be considered. Partnership inquiries that include costs will not be reviewed.

SSD celebrates outstanding partners each spring at our Community Partnership Awards. We also highlight partners throughout the year in newsletters, social media, and other District communications.
