Dominick Colosimo

Dominick Colosimo, a senior at Lindbergh High School who receives services from SSD, has made great strides in his communication skills, developing relationships with others, and in vocational training and employment.

According to SSD speech-language pathologist Cyndy Vincent, who nominated Dominick for the Rosemary Zander Award, Dominick has done an amazing job of learning and incorporating new and better behavioral skills. Those improvements have allowed him to not only join the drama club, but also be chosen as a chief crew leader.

“Dominick has become more self-assured and is a delight to his teachers and fellow students,” said Vincent.

She added that because of his social accomplishments, Dominick was able to secure his first job at Meramec Bluffs Nursing Facility in the dietary department, and he now also has a job at Schnucks as a bagger.

“Dominick is an example of a student who has made amazing changes and accomplished many major life goals during his tenure at Lindbergh,” said Vincent. “It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be part of his growth process.”
