Sarah Sharp

Sarah Sharp, a senior at SSD’s Southview School, has worked hard to address her behavioral challenges and develop her leadership skills.

Sarah has numerous strengths, according to SSD teacher Tina Rogers, who nominated Sarah for the Rosemary Zander Award.

“One of the most notable strengths is her use of language and verbal skills,” said Rogers. “She has broadened her language skills to be able to recognize and identify what she is feeling and implement strategies to address anxiety or anger.”

Sarah also volunteers at the Litzsinger Ecology Center, attends the St. Louis Arc program two days a week, and does the shopping for Southview’s Daily Living Lab once a week.

“Sarah’s behavior success at Southview, in her volunteer sites, and in the community have lead her to make real progress not just with her behavior goals, but also in all areas of her post-secondary goals,” said Rogers. “She has become a great ambassador for Southview.”
