Staff Member Named Top Leader

North Technical High School social worker Krista Sherman is a strong advocate for students in North County. For students without homes and those dealing with other personal issues, Sherman is an important resource provider for students.

“Krista always puts her caring, compassionate attitude for the students into action,” said North Tech principal Mike Powers. “She constantly accesses community resources to help kids be successful at school.”

North County Inc. has recognized Sherman for her efforts by naming her one of the "30 Leaders in Their 30s." The annual award recognizes up-and-coming professionals and volunteers making a difference in North County.

As well as serving in one-on-one support roles for students, Sherman has gone far beyond her standard duties as a school social worker.

“She brought in counseling services for our students and acquired donations for students who needed tools or uniforms or dress clothes for job interviews,” Powers said.

Sherman was honored by North County Inc. at a luncheon on Sept. 21 at Norwood Hills Country Club.
