  • Law Enforcement Class Visit Municipal Police Academy and Communications Center

    May 25, 2022 - Career opportunities in the field of Law Enforcement are endless. They range from commissioned officer to dispatcher, first responder, and of course, police officer. Senior South Tech students took a field trip to the St. Louis County and Municipal Police and Fire Academy and to the St. Louis County Police Communications Center to get a glimpse of what it’s like to work in these positions.

  • Neuwoehner Raises Over $250 for American Heart Association

    May 19, 2022 - Students and staff at Neuwoehner High School spent the entire school day on May 10 raising awareness of heart disease and stroke during its annual Heart Walk. The event involves students walking as many laps as they can within a 50 minute timeframe.

  • Northview Named 2022 National School of Character

    May 18, 2022 - For the third time, Northview High School has been announced as a National School of Character by Character.org. National certification is the highest level of distinction bestowed by the organization. Schools that received the designation demonstrate excellence in establishing school culture that exemplifies and brings to life the 11 Principles Framework for Schools.

  • Lou Fusz Donates Van to South Tech Automotive Technology Program

    May 17, 2022 - Lou Fusz Automotive Network made a stop at South Tech High School to discuss open positions and donate a van to the Automotive Technology Program. The company is currently looking to hire full-time detailers. In this position, workers are paid $15 per hour and are responsible for making cars frontline ready for the dealership.

  • Missy Leibbrandt Named SSD's 2022 Teacher of the Year

    May 2, 2022 - Missy Leibbrandt was selected as SSD's 2022 Teacher of the Year! Leibbrandt is a special education teacher at Claymont Elementary in Parkway School District. She is known for her whole child approach to her students and consistently going above and beyond in her support of them. A dedicated team player and communicator, she commits time to collaborate with her students' general education teachers and ensures her families are updated frequently, comprehensively, and in a caring and personal style.

  • Northview Students Show Appreciation for First Responders

    May 2, 2022 - Northview students took time out of their day to say thank you to first responders at the annual First Responders Day. On April 28, Florissant police officers, firefighters, and paramedics were greeted by hundreds of students who cheered and waved colorful banners that read, “Thank you for all you do!” and “Keep up the good work.”

  • SSD Audiology Clinic Hosts Open House

    April 29, 2022 - For years, SSD's audiologists have worked out of Litzsinger School. Now they have their very own space located, at 2350 S. Lindbergh Blvd! The upgraded building has two audiology sound booths, counseling rooms, and a hearing aid lab where thousands of assistive listening device equipment is stored for students across St. Louis County.

Barroso has previously served in the role as interim director. The appointment is part of the District's continuous improvement for families, staff, and community members.

That’s how she would describe the annual Litzsinger Art Walk and Talent Show, which took place in April. The event-filled day began with families going on a self-guided tour of students' artwork that was displayed in the hallways

  • SSD Forms VSP Partnership with Lafayette High School

    April 19, 2022 - SSD has welcomed a new Vocational Skills Program (VSP) partner, Lafayette High School. Students started working at the campus in January and have taken on various job duties, like washing and preparing produce, stocking food, doing laundry, and cleaning. One of their biggest tasks is flipping the lunch room, a space that is used by over 1,800 high schoolers everyday.

  • Ackerman School Presents the All About Me Fashion Show

    April 14, 2022 - Students at Ackerman School strutted down the runway on April 8 at The Marvel-ous All About Me Fashion Show of Superheroes. During the show, students had the opportunity to dress up as their favorite superhero and walk down the red carpet while being cheered on by family and friends.
