    Garden Creates Summer Fun for Students

    July 2, 2024 - Students in Maplewood-Richmond Heights summer school have been learning all about planting this summer. Every weekday morning, students head outside to their garden to cultivate an array of peppermint, stevia, sweet potatoes, sunflowers, cucumber, and plants native to Missouri.

    SSD Superintendent Dr. Maclin Honored with Award from NAACP

    June 26, 2024 - The St. Louis County branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) selected Special School District of St. Louis County’s Superintendent Dr. Michael Maclin as the Excellence in Youth Development and Equity Award recipient. He was chosen for the award for exemplifying this year’s theme, "For Culture, For Community," due to his role as SSD’s first superintendent of color and his work leading the District’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility efforts.
