Angela Edwards Selected as the Hazelwood Partner District Director

April 11, 20204 - The SSD Board of Education has approved Angela Edwards as the new Hazelwood Partner District Director, effective July 1. Edwards began working at Special School District in 2007 as an elementary special education teacher. She then served as an administrative intern during the 2014-15 school year before being promoted to special education coordinator in 2015. She has been serving as Hazelwood’s interim director since October 2023.

“I am honored to be able to continue to provide leadership and support to the families and staff of the Hazelwood School District as the District Director of Special Education,” said Edwards. “I am committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure that our students are empowered to reach their full potential.”

Edwards holds an educational specialist and a master’s degree in administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a bachelor’s in elementary and special education from Greenville College. She began a doctoral program in administrative leadership at McKendree College in 2019.
