March 24, 2021 – PayneCrest Electric and Communications donated $10,000 worth of Milwaukee tools to students in North Tech’s Construction Innovations program. Students received hacksaws, drills, hammer vacs, brad nailers, a circular saw, and all of the required accessories to bolster their education and training while at North Tech.
“Our Construction Innovations program allows students to customize a year or semester of construction exploration to match their interests,” said Patrick Hanneken, North Tech construction trades instructor. “A wide variety of quarter-long courses give students a solid foundation of basic knowledge and experience.”
Students can continue into an Advanced Construction course in their second year. They choose from carpentry, electrical trades, general construction, welding, or heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).
“By donating state-of-the-art tools used in the field today, students will have the proper tools and training to set themselves up for success in job site settings,” said David Payne, chief executive officer of PayneCrest Electric. “We are happy to be able to provide one piece of the puzzle as they travel down the trade school path.”
The students appreciate the opportunity to have the use of new tools in their programs and the fact that they came from one of North Tech’s big supporters, according to Hanneken.
“We greatly appreciate the PayneCrest family for their kind donation and all the support that they have given our programs over the years,” he said. “We appreciate the employment opportunities and mentoring that they have given our graduates in the past and look forward to continuing this great partnership.”
