Kline Announced as New Assistant Director of Compliance
July 15, 2022 - During the July 12 Board of Education meeting, Sarah Kline was approved for the role of assistant director of compliance. This new role within Special School District (SSD) will assist in gathering supporting documentation for District responses to requests for mediation and due process hearings.
Kline has served the District in the position of a school psychology effective practice specialist (EPS) since 2013. Within this role, she provided consultative support on the special education process and best practices for the delivery of school psychological services to over 40 school psychologists, special education and general education staff, and administrators.
Prior to joining SSD as a psychologist in 2006, she worked as an intern at Lake Orion Community School in Michigan, where she conducted psychoeducational evaluations to identify student needs and eligibility for special education services for preschool through high school-aged students.
Kline holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and an educational specialist degree in school psychology from Michigan State University. She also has a student services certificate in K-12 school psychology and is an active member in the National Association of School Psychologists organization.
“I am looking forward to helping grow the capacities for the SSD Legal Services and Compliance department to develop staff and support families as they serve children with unique needs,” said Kline. “SSD has a strong reputation for supporting staff, families, and students, and I hope to help advance our District’s abilities to provide superior services.”
