SSD COO Named Next Mehlville Superintendent
March 12, 2023 - Following three years as Chief Operations Officer of Special School District of St. Louis County, Dr. Jeff Haug has been named as the new superintendent of Mehlville School District. Haug will assume the role effective July 1, 2023.
SSD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Elizabeth Keenan, shared her thoughts on Haug’s work with SSD, saying, “Dr. Haug has been a steadfast steward of SSD’s resources, and we appreciate the work he has done for our district. I look forward to working with him in his new role supporting SSD students in Mehlville.”
“Serving as SSD’s Chief Operating Officer, allowed me to utilize my passion and expertise to help financially shape the district’s educational goals,” said Haug. “As I assume the role of Mehlville superintendent, I am excited to support all district stakeholders through my combined background in finance and instruction.”
Before joining SSD, Haug served as the Chief Financial Officer at Meramec Valley R-III School District. Starting his career in education as a high school social studies teacher in 1999 at St. Dominic High School, Haug has worked his way up the ranks. Positions include Director of Support Services at Winfield School District, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction at Hazelwood School District, and principal positions at McCluer North High School, Winfield Middle School, and Wright City Middle School.
Haug is an active member of various organizations, including the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) and the Missouri Association of School Business Officials (MOASBO).
SSD will be conducting a search for the District’s next COO and plans to have the position posted the week of March 20.
