Neuwoehner High School 2024 National School of Character

June 13, 2024 - Neuwoehner High School has been named a 2024 National School of Character by The national certification is the highest level of distinction given by the organization. In addition to the national recognition, the school was also named a State School of Character in February. 

“We are proud to be recognized for our work with Character Education,” said Kim Fine, Neuwoehner principal. “Few skills receive this recognition and it is a testament to our school community’s dedication to supporting students with becoming well-rounded adults.”

Neuwoehner has continued to bring to life’s 11 Principles of Effective Character Education through intentional teaching and learning about character, service learning projects, and community partnerships, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to creating a caring and compassionate school culture. 2023-24 characters projects have included Socktober (collecting socks for homeless shelters), Puppy Poppers (selling student-made dog treats and donating proceeds to Stray Rescue), and a supply drive for St. Louis Children’s Hospital (students collected coloring supplies and created coloring books for the hospital’s pediatric patients). 

“Neuwoehner will continue its character journey by growing community partnerships and by continuing to explore the needs of students and families,” added Fine.
