Kindness Chain is Final Link in Northview’s Great Kindness Challenge
Feb. 4, 2021 - Students at Northview High School wrapped up the school week participating in the Great Kindness Challenge by literally wrapping the school with kindness.
Students taped a kindness chain that wrapped around the first floor of the school. Each link has a word or phrase of kindness written on it, such as “nice,” “vibrant,” or “I love you.”
In addition to the kindness chain, Northview students also created 78 greeting cards for St. Sophia Health and Rehab Center, 11 thank you cards for bus drivers and 28 checklists marked with completed acts of kindness turned in—with six students completing more than 20 acts of kindness each.
“Our students read a news story about the 10th annual Great Kindness Challenge,” Northview Principal Brian O’Connor said. “We saw that schools across the world were joining the challenge and we thought we could participate in hopes of promoting kindness and acceptance of others.”
Northview earned a certificate celebrating its completion of this year’s Great Kindness Challenge. Students say they’re not finished yet. They’re going to continue adding links to the kindness chain until it wraps around the entire building.
