SSD Masking Update

March 9, 2022 - The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recently announced updated mask guidance. As a District, SSD has continued to follow the CDC’s guidelines to inform our decisions regarding COVID-19 mitigation and masking. At the March 8 meeting, the SSD Board of Education voted to approve SSD’s updated COVID-19 Mitigation Plan, which includes revised masking guidelines to reflect guidance from the CDC.

Effective March 14, 2022, SSD will be adopting the plan below regarding masking requirements for students, staff, and visitors. When green zone criteria are met, masks will be optional in SSD buildings and sites. If red zone criteria are reached, masks meeting CDC guidelines will be required. SSD will continue to contact trace to monitor the positivity rate in our schools, sites, and programs.

Green Zone - Masks Option in SSD Schools and Buildings. The COVID positivity rate in the building or school is less than 1.5%

Students in the Vocational Skills Program (VSP) and Community Based Vocational Instruction (CBVI) will follow the guidelines of their site or location regarding masking.

We appreciate the continued flexibility of our students and staff as we make adjustments to our protocols to ensure a safe learning and work environment.
