June, 14, 2022 - SSD summer programming is in full swing. ThisStudents at Ackerman School play with legos during summer programming year, over 200 students are enrolled in Summer Journey, a program that provides enrichment and STEM activities for its participants. Students at Ackerman, Litzsinger, Neuwoehner, Northview, and Southview will engage in nature, literacy, cooking, recreation activities, and build drones and rockets.

“We were drawn to Summer Journey for our afternoon programming because of the quality of the materials and the ease of planning. Their materials are hands-on and have more of a summer camp feel,” said Dr. Kelly Grigsby, executive director of schools and programs.

STEM Summer Journey is managed by Catapult Missouri. Its summer program is offered at more than 50 school districts in Missouri, serving over 30,000 students. The SSD program runs during the month of June, Monday through Thursday, from noon - 2:30 PM.
