Schoolwide Pie Sharing Day Hosted at Litzsinger School
Nov. 28, 2022 - Pies were handed out by the dozens at Litzsinger School as students and staff participated in the annual Schoolwide Pie Sharing Day in November.
“It’s amazing,” said seventh-grader Ziedan Sufi. “The pie is the best part. I got pumpkin pie.”
The event is an opportunity for students to come together and socialize. This year, each class was paired with a buddy classroom. Buddy classrooms sat together and participated in various activities as a team.
“Would you Rather and word search games were on the tables to engage students in conversations and interactions while pie sharing,” said Tammy Topp, special education teacher and coordinator of the event. “The event allows students and staff to build relationships and develop an awareness of others similarities and differences while building a sense of community within our building.
A variety of pies were served, including lime, peach, cherry, pumpkin, blueberry, and apple. Art Teacher Stephanie McCoy opted for a chocolate pie.
“It was delicious,” she said. “Leading up to the event, a lot of students in my classes were talking about which pie they were going to choose. The discussions made everyone excited about pie sharing. It was really fun this year."
