South Tech Alumni Wedding Officiated by Hope
Congratulations to South Tech Firefighting and EMT alumni Dalton (Gamble) Heidemann and Graham Heidemann who were married on September 7, 2019, by their instructor David Hope.
Dalton and Graham met in 2013 when they both assisted Mr. Hope as student mentors during our annual Open House. They were outstanding South Tech students and each graduated with a list of honors. Dalton, a 2014 graduate, was South Tech’s first Missouri SkillsUSA president, a two-time Tops at Tech winner, and our first Tech Woman of the Year honoree. Graham was a two-time competitor in the National SkillsUSA Conference, he earned a silver medal in 2013, and was also awarded Tops at Tech his junior year before graduating in 2013.
Graham, a state-certified firefighter and EMT, is now serving as a St. Louis County police officer. Dalton is also a certified EMT and works for Total Access Urgent Care. They continue to support South Tech students by sharing their experience and knowledge through service on our Firefighting and EMT advisory board. “Dalton and Graham aren’t exceptions in my experience, rather they are just part of the family of students whose lives have changed because of their time at South Tech. We have a family of students from every year, many of whom know each other and work together, who continue to come back to help grow our current students into great success stories. This is one of my favorite legacies, that I have a new group of Fire and EMS professionals who see the need to foster the next generation and the desire to help others and give back continues on,” said Hope.
Hope, also an ordained minister, was honored to officiate their wedding ceremony. “Being asked by Dalton and Graham to perform their wedding was an honor. I am proud of the adults they have become and have great hopes for their future lives together. I was fortunate enough to play a small part in their lives and am grateful for the opportunity I have had to be part of it. Our South Tech Fire and EMS family will continue to grow and do great things,” he said.
