Career & Technical Education

SSD operates North Technical High School and South Technical High School, which offer students experiential learning opportunities in more than 30 different programs. Our mission is college and career readiness – a commitment to preparing students for the increasing demands of the 21st century workforce and ensuring that they are fully prepared for college and careers. Dynamic programs like Pharmacy Science and a Pre-Professional Health Sciences Academy have joined the more traditional programs such as Automotive Technology and Welding.

Through real-world classrooms, shadowing, internships, complex projects, clinical rotations, and many other immersive experiences, North Tech and South Tech students are able to gain an in-depth perspective of many career paths and college majors. This gives students the opportunity to discover where they excel, what motivates them, and what they enjoy doing before they begin their post-secondary education or career. Students leave North Tech and South Tech with knowledge, experience, college credits, and certifications in the careers they explore.

North Technical High School is located in Florissant and serves students in the north, northwest and portions of central St. Louis County.

South Technical High School is located in Sunset Hills and serves students in the south, west and portions of central St. Louis County.
